ders BELGELİĞİ
was initiated in April 1998 by H. Avni Öztopcu as a pedagogical publication and resource book designed specifically for his students. Its primary aim was to enrich studio-based learning by encouraging students to transform theoretical knowledge into practical experience through documentation, reflection, and self-driven application.

"ders BELGELİĞİ"
is a pedagogical project that began as a magazine and gradually
evolved into a holistic educational model. In this model, students
learn through creative, hands-on experiences.
The project is
grounded in a philosophy that sees science, ethics, and aesthetics
as inherently interconnected—while rejecting the constraints of
conventional education. It encourages students to assume
responsibility, follow their own paths of inquiry, and engage with
the world through a master–apprentice relationship.
Its ultimate goal is not merely professional
training, but the cultivation of values such as humanity, curiosity,
and integrity. In essence, "ders BELGELİĞİ" seeks not to be a
finished product, but a living catalyst for transformation.

Ders BELGELİĞİ is not merely a record of
the past, but a living and evolving space for civic memory,
pedagogical exploration, and artistic inquiry. Rooted in the local
experience of Erzincan, the project now expands toward a broader
horizon: the foundation of the Erzincan Museum of Art Education.
This
emerging museum will serve as a space where documents, experiences,
and experimental practices converge — to reflect upon, challenge,
and reimagine the past and future of art education in Turkey.

The Erzincan Archival Art Education Museum
is a dynamic cultural laboratory where art, education, nature, and
social memory converge. As the tangible realization of artist and
educator Hüseyin Avni Öztopçu's thirty-year “ders BELGELİĞİ”
philosophy, this project transcends the traditional museum concept.
Located in Erzincan, the museum uniquely blends the enlightenment
legacy of the Village Institutes with modern and experimental
art pedagogy. It serves not only to showcase artworks, but as an
active hub for creative production, learning, and community
engagement. Delve into the depths of this singular project and
discover how a visionary idea can transform into a vibrant social
movement.

The "Ders
Belgeliği" (Course Documentation) is a philosophy that emerged in
1995, distinguished by its innovative approach to art education.
Instead of focusing solely on completed artworks, it creates a
“living archive” by meticulously documenting the student’s creative
process step by step. This approach advocates for an
interdisciplinary model of learning and has gained both national and
international recognition for its contributions to educational
sciences in Turkey. Dive deeper into this philosophy to discover how
it has transformed art education and shaped a vision for the future.
